
Belarusian is an East Slavic language spoken in Belarus. Belarusian has several alternative names and spellings: Belarusan, Belorussian, Bielorussian, White Russian, White Ruthenian, and Byelorussian. It is the national language of Belarus and is spoken by about 7 million people there. It is closely related to the Russian and Ukrainian languages. See also East Slavic languages.
